•We measured residual liver stiffness in postpartum preeclamptic and healthy women.•Preeclamptic women showed higher residual liver stiffness than healthy controls.•Arterial blood pressure positively correlated to residual liver stiffness.•Levels of ALT during pregnancy correlated to liver stiffness at 45 days postpartum.
