Behavioral activation for depression delivered by drug and alcohol treatment workers: A pilot randomized controlled trial

•A pilot trial of BA facilitated by drug and alcohol workers for depressed SUD patients•The sample was N = 34 participants (BA N = 17; TAU N = 17).•BA delivered by drug and alcohol workers is feasible and may add clinical benefit to usual care for SUD patients.•BA may be more acceptable to patients who are in employment and using less substances at baseline.
