Cell type specific isolation of primary astrocytes and microglia from adult mouse spinal cord

•Pure and viable microglia and astrocytes were isolated from adult mouse spinal cord.•Isolated cells can proliferate and are viable in vitro for at least two weeks.•Cells can be used for functional and genomic downstream studies.
