Reaction of PMSE and PMWE to HF heating: comparison during a heater cycling

Using the EISCAT VHF radar observations, the comparison of reaction of polar mesosphere summer and winter echoes (PMSE and PMWE) to HF heating is presented. The response of PMSE and PMWE to HF heating shows a similar pattern however, it is found that HF heating effects on PMSE is 0.92 times greater than its effect on PMWE.
