•This is the first multicenter retrospective study about tigecycline drug-induced liver injury (DILI).•The prevalence of tigecycline DILI in the study population was 10.3%.•Abnormal baseline alanine aminotransferase, intensive care unit admission, and treatment length were risk factors.
