摘要

•J-CQDs were synthesized from Jatropha fruits along with QY 13.7%.•The J-CQDs were exploited in the sensing of chlorpyrifos.•The calculated detection limit of chlorpyrifos was found to be 2.7 ng/mL.•The feasibility of J-CQDs was successfully applied in river water and apple juice.
