Selective flotation separation of fluorite from calcite using mixed anionic/cationic collectors

•Flotation separation of fluorite from calcite was difficult.•The flotation separation performance and adsorption mechanism of mixed collector on the surface of fluorite was studied.•Mixed collector was more adsorbed on fluorite surface through carbon chain association.•In the mixed collector system, the salt water glass selectively inhibited calcite.
