Intelligent detection of hard seeds of snap bean based on hyperspectral imaging

•Hyperspectral images of 2400 snap-bean seeds were collected.•Comprehensive comparison of multiple pretreatment methods.•Realized the hard seed detection of snap-bean based on multiple models.•The prediction accuracy of the characteristic wavelength reached 89.32%.•The effectiveness of characteristic wavelength was verified with internal substances.
