Assessment of subchannel flow mixing coefficients for wire-wrapped hexagonal fuel rod bundles

•The ENERGY model describes the subchannel flow mixing with the enhanced eddy diffusivity and the circumferential swirl flow.•The flow mixing coefficients have been assessed by comparing model predictions and experimental data.•The results show good agreement with the previous correlations, especially with the Cheng-Todreas model.
