摘要
Intraorbital foreign bodies (IOFB) are objects located inside the bony orbit but outside of the globe. They are usually the result of an accident and are more likely to occur in young males. From a clinical perspective they pose a diagnostic and management challenge which benefits from a multidisciplinary approach. Wooden IOFB are particularly signficant as they present an infection risk if not detected and managed appropriately. The clinician should take a detailed history and perform a careful examination. Computed tomography is the initial imaging of choice and management depends on the size, location and type of IOFB. We present 3 cases of wooden IOFB at our hospital and share our experience of their management.
