摘要
Serpula similis is an interesting member of Hymenomycetes in association with bamboo clumps. However, the functions of Serpula similis are not clear yet. In this study, we investigated the effects and possible mechanism of fermentation broth of Serpula similis (FeBrSS) on cellular senescence induced by oxidative stresses. As a result, we found that FeBrSS administration certainly repressed activity of senescence associated β-Galactosidase and expression of senescence-associated genes. Interestingly, the effects of FeBrSS are related to the restoration of impaired autophagy via activation of AMPK other than via mTORC1 pathway. Together, our study demonstrated for the first time that FeBrSS have the effects of inhibiting senescence via autophagy restoration which occurs due to activation of AMPK pathway, and therefore, supported that autophagy plays a critical role in anti-aging. Our findings expanded the list of fermentation broth of fungus of significance and may provide new evidence or strategies for developing new drugs for anti-aging.
