摘要
In the present work, a study on stepped basin solar still (SBSS) coated with energetic SiO2/TiO2 nanolayers is analyzed experimentally for its advanced and challenging properties for the proposed system. Different thermal conductivity (TC) potential by applying different coating ratios between 10% and 50% has been investigated and applied on the stepped basin to enhance thermal performance. An essential parameter of the system is the absorption of solar rays that helps to improve the stepped basin temperature and improves the evaporation process. The experimental results indicated that the SBSS represents an elaborate structure that is very competitive and considered a natural technique to distillate the water. The optimized ratio of SiO2/TiO2 nanolayers is detected for a ratio of 30%, which leads to a maximum improvement of evaporation in the basin area from the SBSS. The maximum thermal efficiency using SiO2/TiO2 nanolayers on the SBSS can reach about 40.241%. Additionally, herbal extracts in the SBSS enhanced the basins' temperature and helped to produce high-quality purified water. Natural distillate water can use to tackle society, which is needed for low price water production.
