摘要
Heavy metal contamination derived from metallurgical solid wastes has caused serious threats to the environment and human health, and requires more attention. Stabilization/solidification (S/S) is a promising approach to treat metallurgical solid wastes before the final disposal, aiming to reduce the environmental risks. This chapter focuses on the current knowledge on S/S technologies of various metallurgical solid wastes including chromite ore processing residue, arsenic-alkali residue, arsenic-bearing sludge, and arsenic-rich flue dust. These solid wastes reviewed are typical hazardous wastes with very high environmental risks, while slags are usually nonhazardous wastes and not discussed in this chapter. Moreover, for a better understanding of the S/S technologies for specific solid wastes, the source and nature of mentioned solid wastes are discussed in detail.
