Abstract The global demand for energy is on the rise and in order to eliminate the associated emissions, carbon capture utilization and storage is deemed as one of solutions to achieve this target.1 Furthermore, the development of renewable energy alternatives including: solar, wind, geothermal, etc., is one of the potential long-term options to eliminate additional emissions.2 Although electricity generation from renewable sources is on the rise, it is going to be a long journey for renewables to take over the traditional power generation routes.2
