摘要

We implemented Raman sideband cooling in 171 Yb + between weakly split Zee- man states rather than across the typical 12.6 GHz hyperfine splitting and infer sub-Doppler cooling from n ¯ x , y , z = [ 29 ( 2 ) , 36 ( 16 ) , 16.2 ( 5 ) ] to [0 : 07(7), 2 : 0(1 : 2), 5 : 6(2)].
