摘要
In our own research aim was to assess the extent to which a 5-week exercise program we compiled affects the quality of life of knee and hip prosthetic patients. In our prospective study, 36 people were selected by non-random convenience sampling. We prepared this research in Hungary at Dombóvár, Saint Luke Hospital (September- May, 2019). Upon arrival, a full medical history was taken, using the SF-36 questionnaire to assess quality of life, while we used the Visual Analog Scale and the Western Ontario McMaster Universities OA Index pain scale to determine the degree of pain. The joint range of motion was measured for hip and knee movements with a joint protractor, and the muscle strength test was performed manually on the hip flexor, extensor, abductor and knee flexor, extensor muscle groups. For our statistical analysis, we used one-sample t-test. Arrival and leaving results of the range of motion of the examined patients (p<0.001), muscle strength of the hip flexors, extensors, abductors and knee flexor extensor (p<0.001) improved significantly. Their pain at rest and during exercise improved from 6.17±1.46 to 3.22±1.64 (p<0.001), degree of quality of life improved from 39.22±22.41 point to 69.19±16.47 point (p<0.001) and their perception of their own condition when they arrived was 71.67±12.45 point and it improved to 38.5±10.5 point (p<0.001) so it improved also significantly after the exercise program. As a result of the exercise program we compiled, the pain on exercise and at rest decreased, the range of motion of the hips and knees increased, we achieved an increase in the strength of the muscles around the hips and knees, the patients’ quality of life improved and their perception of their own condition also improved.
