摘要
summary The importance of through flow convection of gases is recognized hut the notion that convection of a non-through flow type might play n major role in plant aeration is challenged. It is shown that this convection discovered recently in deep-water rice, and which could operate also in almost any submerged root system, must be subordinate to diffusion in the plant's aeration process and will al best have only minimal influence on root aeration.
