Establishment a Model of Experimental Autoimmune Myasthenia Gravis Rats

Objective:To set up a model of experimental autoimmune myasthenia gravis( EAMG) rats. Methods:Immunized Lewis rats by Acetylcholine receptors( AChR) to be extracted and purified from the electric organs of California Torpedo by affinity chromatography,observed rats' scales of clinical manifestation,repetitive nerve stimulation and determined anti-AChR antibodies. Results:The model group rats showed the typical evidence of EAMG including muscle weakness,a decremental response on repetitive nerve stimulation and increasing titers of anti-AChR antibodies,In control group,the rats immunized with placebo showed no findings of EAMG. Conclusion:AChR can induce EAMG by active immunity.
