Glycerine and CeCl3˙7H2O:An Efficient and Recyclable Reaction Medium for Ring Opening ofEpoxides with Thioamides and Amines

Oxiranes undergo rapid ring-opening reaction with a range ofthioamides and amines to afford the corresponding β-aminoalcohol derivatives. The reactions were carried out using glycerineand cerium(III) chloride as a recyclable reaction medium. All thereactions were carried out at room temperature and the products wereobtained in excellent yields.
