Experiment of treatment of liver cirrhosis with hepatogenous diabetes

Objective To examine the clinical feature of hepatogenous diabetes in patients with liver cirrhosis.Methods 68 cases of hepatogenous diabetes were examined of history tests for clinical feature and method of treatment.The relationship between blood glucose and Child-grades of liver function and relationship between anti-insulin and Child-grades of liver were compared.Results The occurrence rate of hepatogenous diabetes was 37%.Hyperglycemia in patients with hepatocirrhosis was related to Child-grades of liver function(P0.05).The level of serum insulin increased and insulin sensitive index(ISI) descended.Blood glucose was controlled well by insulin treatment.Conclusion Hepatogenous diabetes is a common complication of cirrhosis.Hyperglycemia in patients with hepatocirrhosis is related to Child-grades of liver.The clinical symptoms of hepatogenous diabetes are seldom typical case.Insulin therapy should be the first selected in patients with hepatogenous diabetes.
