Silicate glasses 33Bi2O3-50SiO2-17PbO doped with 0.1%,0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75% and 1% Tm2O3 were prepared by the conventional melting method. Thermal property was studied by the DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimeter) method. Its Tx-Tg value is 138℃. According to the absorption spectra and Judd-Ofelt theory, J-O strength parameters, radiative transition properties, the radiative lifetimes and the branching ratio of some excited state energy levels were calculated.
