摘要
Objective:To investigate the effect of transarterial chemo-embolization combined with radio-frequency ablation for treatment of middle or advanced stage hepatocellular carcinoma in elderly.Methods:70 cases of elderly patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma which losing the surgery chance or reject surgery in our hospital from January 2009 to May 2011,according to the random number table were divided into the observation group and the control group with 35 cases in each group. The observation group was treated by TACE combined with RFA,the control group was treated by TACE alone. The tumor shrinkage, changes in serum AFP,adverse reactions, and survival rate of two groups were compared. Results:The rate of tumor shrinkage and serum AFP the decline rate of in the observation group were significantly higher than that in the control group(P0.05).The six-month survival rate had no significant difference in two groups(P0.05),while the 12-month and 24-month survival rate in observation group were significantly higher than that in the control group(P0.05).The body temperature elevated(≥38℃),gastrointestinal reactions, liver pain, ascites increased and elevated transaminase of two groups had no significantly difference(P0.05).Conclusion:TACE combined with RFA on treatment of middle or advanced liver cancer in elderly can significantly accelerated tumor shrinkage, improve long-term survival, and has no significant increase in adverse reactions,is worthy of clinical application.
