摘要
Objective To explore the clinical characteristics, diagnosis and treatment of intracranial hemangiopericytoma (HPC). Methods The clinical data of 6 patients with intracranial HPC, who underwent microsurgery from 2006 to 2012, were analyzed retrospectively. The related literatures were reviewed. Results Total resection was achieved in 4 patients and subtotal in 2. Four patients received gamma knife treatment after microsurgery. All patients were followed up for 12~72 months (mean, 39 months), and the outcomes showed one patient recurred 16 months after microsurgery and died and the other 5 patients had no recurrence. Conclusions The first choice of treatment for intracranial HPC is resection of tumor as much as possible. Regardless of total resection of the tumor, adjuvant radiotherapy and long time follow-up should be recommended for patients with intracranial HPC.
