Priority-Based Scheduling Approach to Minimize the SLA Violations in Cloud Environment

In a virtualized datacenter, the Service Level Agreement for an application restricts the Virtual Machines (VMs) placement. The scheduling algorithm is responsible of route the user request to a specific VM, this scheduling process impact directly the SLA. An optimal scheduling approach aim to minimize the SLA violations and maximize the provider resources utilization. This paper presents a two-phases scheduling approach that can apply in geo-distributed data center environment, the first phase is to select the suitable data center to process the user request, while the second phase is to choose the suitable VM. The purpose is to minimize the SLA violations in term of Response time, availability and reliability. Our solution is also distinguishing standard request from high priority requests during the scheduling decision.
