Voltage Control Strategy for Wind Farm Based on Probability Model of Voltage Droop Gain

With the rapid development of wind power, the voltage control strategy of power system is paid more concern. The reactive power provided or absorbed by the wind turbine (WT) can help regulate the voltage fluctuations of power systems. However, the traditional fixed droop control strategy is not applicable to provide reasonable reactive power for WTs. In this work, taking into account the time-varying nature of wind speed and the uncertainty characteristics of wind power, the different distribution ranges of reactive power capacity from WT in a wind power plant (WPP) is investigated based on different wind speed sections, and the voltage control strategy for wind farms based on the probability model of voltage droop gain is proposed. The proposed method can make the WPP exert reactive power compensation ability of WTs in each wind speed section fully and reasonably.
