Role of E-Governance in Corporate Governance and Board effectiveness

Corporate governance may be defined as the set of rules, policies and practices through which company is governed and monitored. The rationale behind corporate governance is to strengthen the relationship between owners and board of directors of the company. Monitoring management's effectiveness and efficiency can be achieved through e-governance optimization. The use of information technology in corporate governance leads to greater transparency and efficiency. However, there is lack of awareness of advantages of E-governance and use of information and communication technologies (ICT). This paper focuses on role of e-governance to achieve better corporate governance and board effectiveness. The study further highlights the status of implementation of corporate e-governance through MCA 21 model.
