摘要
We present a study of Roman pottery kilns discovered in the ager Saguntinus according to the results of archaeological surface surveys carried out in 2018. The aim is to relocate and document a series of pottery workshops that are already known and to carry out the first approach to the typological and archaeometric characterization of their ceramic products, especially amphorae. This intervention has specifically focused on three figlinae, known as Els Arcs (Estivella), Sabato II (Torres Torres) and Pla d’Orlell I (Vall d’Uixo), and has expanded the knowledge of ceramic productions manufactured in those kilns. Among other aspects, the study shows the productive and commercial relevance of Saguntum wine and contributes to broadening knowledge about its economy during the Early Roman Empire.
