Continuous Wavelength Characterization of 1.3µm Quantum Dot Mesa Diode

In this experiment, we investigatedl.3um QD mesa diode with 8 layers of quantum dot in the active region sandwiched by n-type and p-type AIGaAs cladding layers in a variable composition of aluminium. This report shows the characteristics of QD laser in CW condition, which includes temperature, frequency and current density. From the diagrams, we can easily get turn on voltage, the wavelength of ground state, first excited state and second excited state respectively. We further investigated the reasons of causing these phenomena.
