摘要
A 17 year old adolescent and a 25 year old adult patient presented for correction of malocclusion that included a transverse maxillary deficiency. Both the patients were suggested for expansion of upper jaw for transverse malocclusion correction. Evidence indicate that when conventional expander are used in adult patient it produced more of dent alveolar effects and less to no skeletal effects and most of the patients were reluctant towards surgically assisted expansion which produced pure skeletal expansion. So the decision was made to treat the patients with mini-implant assisted expansion. RPE of the maxillary arch was achieved by means of Hybrid-Hyrax appliance and three dimensional evaluations of the changes before and after expansion was evaluated with Cone Beam CT.
