摘要
In this paper, continuous wave (CW) laser with minimum power along with NRZ modulation format is used at the transmitter and PIN photodetector at the receiver for successful communication. The objective of this paper is to determine the various parameters while transmitting the optical signal at different transmission distance and to make the comparison between them. We have chosen the best suited wavelength from the various bands of optical wavelength. Single-mode fiber at optical wavelengths 1310, 1410 and 1510 nm is used for the data transmission of 21 Gb/s across 1, 5, 7.5 and 10 km, respectively, and received the optimized Q factor with minimum BER (bit error rate). The erbium-doped fiber amplifier is used for the amplification of the optical signal and PIN detector is used at the receiver end. The table given in the results and discussion shows the various parameters selected for the experimental setup and the values of Q factor and BER; also eye diagrams are also discussed.
