New UV-Timable Solid State Lasers for Lidar Applications

摘要
New ultraviolet vibronic lasers are developed for Lidar applications. Best results were obtained with LiSAF doped by Ce3+ ions (8 mJ @ 20 Hz). The first test results with a frequency-agile Ce:LiSAF Lidar system are presented here in the form of simultaneous measurements of SO2 and O3 concentration profiles. Potential of other Cerium doped materials for Lidar applications are discussed.
