•Reviewed dosimetry, nodal control, and rate of distant metastases for 304 SBRT .•Found no correlation between rate of distant mets post-SBRT and dose outside the PTV..•In subset found higher dose outside PTV adorrelated to increased risk of metastases..•Also found correlation between rate of distant metastases to PTV and GTV volume.
