Microarray Data Classification using Multi Objective Genetic Algorithm and SVM

Data mining and its applications have been used in many fields. One such important filed is the medical industry where data mining techniques have been applied for improving the medical procedure and the treatment. Cancer is a dangerous disease that requires very complex treatment. In this paper, a Multi-objective Genetic Algorithm was proposed for Microarray Data feature selection. Minimizing the quantity of features and maximizing the classification accuracy are the two objectives. Existing feature selection algorithms are well suitable for evaluate the single objective and do not satisfy the actual need. The proposed algorithm is developed and compared with single objective method.
