Mobile Partogram—m-Health technology in the promotion of parturient’s health in the delivery room

International organizations such as World Health Organization and International Telecommunication Union are encouraging the adoption of m-Health technology considered the use of mobile computing in healthcare promotion and other information and communication technologies systems to reduce geographical barriers and improve in health information. The Partogram brings quality of care by easing the registration, providing an overview of the progress of labor, care auditing, clinical training, and care transfer. However, women progress in labor in different rhythms, and the use of the Partogram might have adverse effects, resulting in a more negative work experience. Furthermore, in this chapter we intend to present Mobile Partogram as a result of a multidisciplinary project of research of a app focused on the support and monitoring of the evolution of labor. The project presented challenges, such as human computer interaction, showing the need for a better model of interaction in the hospital environment. This bases allowed the definition of the tooling and methodology of the design and development of the solution.
