Magnetic Refrigeration Materials: Challenges and Future Perspectives

The article is devoted to the review of new magnetic materials and technologies, the study of magnetothermal properties of which is focused on achieving the limiting operating parameters that allow the material to be used under extreme operating conditions, or in such conditions where it is necessary to ensure repeatability of results. One of the practical applications of such materials is magnetic cooling technology. In the series of magnetothermal properties it is necessary to note the magnetocaloric effect (MCE). Due to its greatest sensitivity to phase transitions the materials which reveal this effect are promising for practical use in magnetic refrigeration, biomedicince, obtaining ultralow temperatures and etc.
