DEAL – Developing Embedded Approaches to Leadership

This symposium, called DEAL, an acronym for “Developing Embedded Approaches to Leadershipx, addresses a call to develop more contextual and processual approaches to the study of leadership. To date, leadership research tends to focus on the general rather than contextually sensitive, to be static when it comes to temporal aspects, and to not taking into account whether those being led are collectives such as teams. Specifically, much remains unknown when it comes to leadership along a cultural dimension, at different levels in change processes, in different types of teams and over time. The purpose of the symposium is to present research that addresses these issues, through papers that develop new approaches and insights into leadership in different contextual dimensions such as culture, identity, and structure, as well as over time.
