摘要
Bats are social animals with highly developed audio-vocal systems whose brains share many similarities with that of humans, and thus they emerge as an outstanding mammalian model to study social communication. In this article, I focus on the findings from Rose et al. (2021, Science, 374[6566], eaba9584) who discovered coordinated neural activity in the frontal cortex of socially communicating bats, and I review other recent advances in the field that explore the neural representation of social communication in bats.
