Evaluation of the association of a variant in PNPLA3 and TM6SF2 with fibrosis progression in patients with chronic hepatitis C infection after eradication: A retrospective study

•The G and GG alleles in PNPLA3 rs738409 are predictive of advanced fibrosis (OR = 1.98;OR = 3.12).•The T and TT alleles in TM6SF2 rs58542926 are predictive of advanced fibrosis(OR = 2.3, OR = 3.05).•PNPLA3 G and GG carriers, TM6SF2 T and TT carriers are associated with fibrosis progression.
