Transcriptomic profiling of Bursaphelenchus xylophilus reveals differentially expressed genes in response to ethanol

摘要
•We examined the influence of different ethanol concentrations on the reproduction of the pine wood nematode Bursaphelenchus xylophilus.•Low concentrations of ethanol increased egg production; higher concentrations reduced egg production.•Transcriptome analysis of B. xylophilus suggested that the nematode may use ethanol as an energy source.•Ethanol exposure promoted the upregulation of detoxification-related, cell wall-degrading, and reproduction-related genes of B. xylophilus.
