摘要
Transseptal catheterization of the left atrium (LA) is an important and necessary approach for a wide range of procedures performed in interventional cardiology and electrophysiology. It is technically demanding and requires a detailed understanding of the atrial anatomy and its fluoroscopic and echocardiographic correlates. Potential complications arise if the atrial wall or structures adjacent to the septum are damaged by the catheter and needle assembly. Hemopericardium is a possible complication. 1 Alkhouli M.
