摘要

•Marine soft corals are good source of biologically active compounds.•Structures of steroids from soft corals are used in drug discovery.•From 2015 to 2020, 179 new steroid compounds were isolated from soft corals.•Structural classification and bioactivities of these compounds have been analyzed.
