Performance evaluation of implantable cardioverter-defibrillators with SmartShock technology in patients with inherited arrhythmogenic diseases

•Use of the SmartShock Technology algorithm results in low rates of inappropriate shock in patients with inherited arrhythmogenic diseases (IAD; 3.2% at 2 years).•Use of the SmartShock Technology algorithm results in low rates of inappropriate shock in patients without IAD (3.8% at 2 years).•Complications in patients with IAD were numerically, but not statistically, lower than patients without (8.8% vs 9.6% at 24 months in patients with IAD vs without respectively, p = 0.79).
