Differential association of baseline body weight and body-weight loss with neurological deficits, histology, and death after repetitive closed head traumatic brain injury

•A lower body weight (BW) and greater %BW-loss correlated with earlier seizures.•The %BW-loss (but not baseline BW) correlated with behavioral deficits.•A greater baseline BW (but not %BW-loss) was associated with worse histopathology.
