摘要

•Standard exercise test (SET) affected thyroid hormone concentrations of horses.•Relationship between v4 and thyroid hormone in Standardbred racehorses was evaluated.•Serum T3 and fT3 were significantly influenced by SETs and were higher in 4-year-old horses.•Increases were inversely related to v4 and affected by age and sex of the horses.•Standardbred horses could rapidly adjust their metabolism to SET according to the different age.
