摘要
Complex anatomical lung resections such as segmentectomies can be very challenging using conventional VATS or open approaches mainly due to patient's anatomic variations and technical issues. Routine imaging modalities combined with state-of-the-art reconstruction software can substantially improve preoperative surgical planning by enhancing the surgeon's knowledge of the patient's specific anatomy. On the other hand, the robotic approach offers some advantages such as an ergonomic design, 3D-vision and better dexterity compared to conventional approaches. Additionally, intraoperative 3D guiding contributes to the safety and accuracy of anatomical pulmonary resections. We can summarize that both technologies (3D reconstruction and robotic surgery), in combination, could be beneficial for patients.
