摘要
•296 million people were living with chronic hepatitis B infection in 2019, with 1.5 million new infections each year.•Genotypes A, D and E have been identified in Kenya with possibility of higher genetic diversity.•HIV infection modifies the natural course of chronic HBV infection, leading to more severe and progressive liver disease.•HBV lamivudine resistance mutations rtV173L, rtL180M, and rtM204V have been identified in different parts of Kenya.•NASCOP guidelines recommend TDF + 3TC + DTG for treatment of HBV/HIV co-infection.
