摘要
INTRODUCTON Oral route is one of the most preferred route for drug administration. But in case of oral conventional drug delivery swallowing difficulties are seen in various age group of patients (elders a nd children) as well as mentally retarded, un cooperative, nauseating patients. But formulation o f fast dissolving tablets have helped to overcome the above mentioned difficulties . FDTs are also known as Orodispersible tablets. Moreover this delivery system also has many other advantages like faster absorption which results in rapid onset of action, greater bioavailability. ABSTRACT Oral disintegrating tablets have proved to be an al ternative to conventional dosage forms, as it has b etter patient compliance. The FDT’s are solid dosage forms that d issolve or disintegrate rapidly in the oral cavity. This results in solution or suspension without the need of water. The main motive of our work was to formul ate and evaluate fast dissolving tablets of aceclofenac com ing under the category of NSAIDS. With the help of FTIR studies it was found that aceclofenac was compatibl e with a wide range of excipients. FDT’s were prepa d using different concentration of super disintegrati ng agent like kollidon CL, kyron T-314, doshion P54 4-DS by direct compression method and evaluated for hardnes s, thickness, friability, disintegration time, and percentage of drug release. The results were found satisfactor y. Formulation KC2 made of 4% kollidon CL showed highest release rate of 99.31% at the end of 15 min.
