To compare and combine qualitative and quantitative data collected from respondents in a mixed-methods study, the research team developed a relational database to merge survey responses stored and analyzed in SPSS, and semi-structured interview responses stored and analyzed in the qualitative software package ATLAS.ti. The process of developing the database as well as practical considerations for researchers who may wish to use similar methods are explored.
