Three for One – Successful Emergency Management in Rare Case of ACC Dissection during Catheterization for Clot Retrieval of Left Sided M1-Segment via Vessel Exploration, Endovascular Thrombectomy and Retrograde Stenting

Case Report We present our experience with the surgical exploration of ACC bifurcation as a rescue maneuver to manage acute M1-occlusion after ipsilateral iatrogenic dissection (ID) of common carotid artery (ACC) by providing alternative endovascular access to perform mechanical thrombectomy (MT) in left middle cerebral artery (MCA) and retrograde Stenting of ACC dissection. This results in successful recanalization of both the MCA and ACC with a good clinical outcome.
