Evidence synthesis Structural determinants of stigma across health and social conditions: a rapid review and conceptual framework to guide future research and intervention

• A review of known structural deter minants of stigma operating across health and social conditions has been missing from existing literature. • This study reviewed and synthesized existing literature and identified 10 domains of structural determinants of stigma. • The 10 domains identified were: legal frameworks, welfare policies, economic policies, social and built environments, media and marketing, pedagogical factors, health care policies and practices, biomedical technology, diagnostic frameworks and public health interventions. • The proposed conceptual framework of the 10 domains of structural determinants of stigma can be used to structure future policy discussions on ways to address stigma at the population level.
